MathTranslate: The best paper translation tool (requires you to have a latex file)
MathTranslate is an innovative open source project available on GitHub that is predominantly utilized for translating scientific papers that contain complex mathematical symbols and formulas. Unlike most translation software available nowadays, MathTranslate is specifically designed to maintain the integrity of equations, mathematical symbols, and other challenging-to-identify content during the translation process. This ensures that the mathematical symbols and formulas remain consistent both before and after translation, making it an ideal tool for researchers and scholars who deal with scientific papers frequently.
Example Presentation
Here is an example of how MathTranslate converts a paper from English to Simplified Chinese using latex file (of course this tool is not limited to English to Simplified Chinese, it can translate from most languages to most languages, although it is usually only used to translate from English to our own native language).

Translated text
As you can observe, the textual content has been well translated while retaining the original formula and layout intact.
Potential Applications
- Translation of arxiv article. arXiv is a publicly available preprint platform. One of its advantages is that it allows authors to upload LaTeX source code, not just PDF files. This allows readers to download the LaTeX source code, view the detailed formatting and content of the article, and even make changes and recompilations. Taking advantage of this feature, we can use the MathTranslate tool for high-quality translations of arXiv articles.
- Final self-check in your native language when writing a non-native language paper. Another important use of MathTranslate is to help researchers who are writing papers in a non-native language to do a final self-check and proofreading in their native language. As we know, many scientific papers are written in English or other foreign languages, which can be a big challenge for non-native speakers. Even if we have acquired a certain level of proficiency in a foreign language, it is inevitable that some grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, improper wording or unclear expressions will occur. With MathTranslate, we can easily translate mathematical formulas and texts from written LaTeX source code into our native language. In this way, we can check and revise our papers in our more familiar and sensitive native language, finding and correcting some superficial language problems in order to improve the quality and level of our papers, while facilitating the reading and comprehension for reviewers and readers.
